Crystal Susanna Gille was born on November 7th, 1979 in Oklahoma City to Afton and Tina Gille.
She was the second of 5 children.
Chrissy spent her childhood surrounded by brothers, sisters, and cousins, cousins, and more cousins!
Whether going to Joy School, taking Ballet and Tap at Miss Betty’s, attending birthday parties at Fun Skate and McDonalds, or the annual Gille Family Reunion, there was always lots of family around and never a dull moment.
Chrissy was an adorable little girl with big brown eyes and long brown hair and grew up to be an exceptionally beautiful young woman.
She attended Edmond Memorial high school, focusing her energies on her social life rather than academics……a fact appreciated more by her siblings than her parents as Lacey and Grant felt her popularity paved the way for them when they started high school already known as a “little Gille.”
Chrissy was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints when she was eight years old. As she grew older, her faith in God became increasingly important to her.
Chrissy met Stephen Pilcher at EFY in Tampa, Florida and they were married in 1998.
They lived briefly in Florida and then Utah, but when Chrissy became pregnant with Keller she was determined to return to Oklahoma to be near her family. Chrissy sailed easily through both of her pregnancies and impressed her brothers by wakeboarding when she was nine months pregnant.
Her son, Stephen Keller Pilcher Jr., was born in July, 1999, and daughter, Kamryn Lacey Pilcher was born on Valentine’s Day of 2001.
This year Chrissy was the Daisy Scout leader for Kamryn’s troop and truly enjoyed the time she spent with the girls practicing cheerleading, making crafts, and having slumber parties. She never seemed to mind having a house full of children and was always looking for a new sport or activity to enroll Keller and Kamryn in.
Chrissy loved to travel, buy new clothes, hang out with friends, and go out to eat. She was known for ordering the most expensive item on the menu whether at Sonic or Musashi’s. When Chrissy was motivated it was amazing how much she could accomplish. If caught at the right moment, Chrissy was willing to clean your house, do your laundry, organize your photographs, write your thank you cards, plan your party, or renovate your rental property.
Her family loves her deeply and will remember her laughing, dancing, and teasing. They will miss her enthusiasm for the holidays and feel her absence next Christmas morning when she is not there to awaken everyone early and fulfill her traditional role by passing out the gifts.
Chrissy had a wonderful sense of humor and you could always count on her to do something unexpected. She was playful, spontaneous, adventurous, and yes, a little ornery, but, oh so much fun…. and life without her will never be the same.
